VISUAL DUE DILIGENCE
PROPOSed CONCEPT :
Over the years, Ramble has honed a niche skill in capturing cultural and architectural context imagery for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As the Church continues to build meaningful edifices dedicated to worship, devotion and community, there is a need for designers and key stakeholders of these projects to have an accessible library of both still and moving imagery of the surrounding built environment to provide context for the future project site. This imagery helps give a more clarified idea of architectural precedents established in the local region, specifically as it relates to other religious, governmental, educational and financial structures. Macro photography of culturally important architectural stylings established in particular regions help designers on the other side of the world understand the architectural precedent. The wide variety of imagery also gives a glimpse for key stakeholders into what it feels like to live, shop, commute, and worship in these locations. Photo, video and audio assets are invaluable to telling the story of each location.
In addition to context photos of the area, we would also capture relevant assets for transportation, staging and installation of DMI built temples. Working with Zach Hart, we would develop a visual guideline of how to get from the nearest port to the staging site and eventually to the Temple site. Capturing video and imagery will help solve problems before they arise.
Below you will find a webpage dedicated to a small sampling of the architectural, cultural, and project site context imagery for Singapore. This is a sample page to show an efficient method of delivering context imagery used in due diligence, site prep, design and approval procedures. After working through this niche content capture over the last few years, we’ve learned some valuable lesson on ways to streamline the process and make the content more usable.
The delivery method of this imagery is crucial to how useful it is for all involved. The original delivery method was a Sharpoint/Dropbox folder which seemed to be cumbersome and became an obstacle for efficiency.
We are proposing building a dedicated webpage with a unique URL and password protection for each site. All of the images and video compiled onto a simple-to-use and visually interesting webpage.
These pages WOULD NOT host any sensitive documentation, data or imagery that would require security oversight. Think of these webpages as site-specific mood boards for future development.
SINGAPORE
ARCHITECTURAL CONTEXT
VIDEO ASSETS
We have found video and audio to be an essential aspect to capturing the soul of the city or town. With the ability for designers and project partners to immerse themselves into the culture and surroundings of the city, there will be a closer connection between the design and its intended surroundings. We have found this also helps during the approval process with key stakeholders unfamiliar with the potential build site and surroundings.
SITE SPECIFIC ASSETS
While imagery of the build site is a common aspect of the due-diligence period, often that imagery is low resolution or improperly formatted for the design phase of the project. Not only is this aspect of photography helpful to real estate teams, this imagery helps designers, architects, and builders better understand the location, unique constraints and general surroundings of the potential build site. We capture photo and video every fifty feet from 50 through 400 feet and 360 degrees around each build site. In addition, we also capture high resolution assets from the ground to understand the scale and context of the site. These images are often used during the mockup stage for sign-off from stakeholders and announcing for public relations.
